Food Safety
Food safety is becoming a very important part of the fresh produce industry. We are conducting third party audits and implementing  good agricultural practices for our farms, packing facilities, and harvest crews. At Kid's Choice Watermelons, the safety and quality of our watermelons are a primary concern.  Throughout the entire growing season, steps are taken to ensure that our watermelons are grown and packed using good agricultural practices (GAP).

However, as a consumer the most important thing you can do to ensure  your safety is to
WASH YOUR PRODUCE BEFORE EATING.
Even though we take every effort to ship delicious, sweet, safe watermelons free of contaminants, we do not have control of them after they leave our facilities.

WASH hands with warm water and soap for 20 seconds before and after handling food.

WASH cutting boards, dishes, utensils, and counter tops with hot soapy water after preparing each food item and before you go on to the next food.

RINSE fruits and vegetables under running tap water, including those with skins and rinds that are not eaten.

RUB firm-skin produce (or scrub with clean brush) under running tap water.

BLOT produce dry with a clean cloth towel or paper towel.
